Bristol set to rock this summer to celebrate 50 years of Off the Record
Off the Record Bristol, a youth mental health charity celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, is excited to host a musical extravaganza Rock The Record on Friday 3rd July.
The diverse night of entertainment (7-11pm) will directly benefit the front-line work of Off the Record, who have provided free, self-referral and confidential mental health support to young people in Bristol since 1965.
Hosted at The Station on Silver Street, Rock The Record hosts a BBQ, market place and a stellar line-up of live music, including headliners Koshiro, Last Night’s Victory, Friday’s Ashes and many more acts.
Off the Record Bristol has already held a celebratory anniversary event at the Colston Hall in March, and last month won a prestigious GSK award for its pioneering approach to mental health support. Rock The Record is the latest event to mark the landmark year.
Dr. Simon Newitt, Chief Executive of Off the Record Bristol, commented:
“We’re really excited to host a fantastic event on a hopefully sunny evening to raise money for Off the Record. The funds raise will enable us to continue delivering innovative youth support sessions across Bristol, such as campaigning group Mentality, our stress-busting Resilience Lab project, and the LGBTQ work of Freedom. Come and Rock The Record with us!”
Charlie Crisp, singer and guitarist for the band Last Night’s Victory, added:
“We’re really looking forward to Rock The Record. We always look forward to playing in Bristol as there is such a buzzing live music scene. We are excited to play new music in front of a new audience in what sounds like an awesome carnival environment. Last Night’s Victory will be donating all proceeds from t-shirt and CD sales to Off the Record Bristol”.
Rock The Record tickets are just £5 and available from Bristol Ticket Shop.
Off the Record Bristol is keen to hear from anyone willing to volunteer on the night, particularly qualified doormen and anyone with an exciting performance skill to share: please email laura@otrbristol.org.uk to help support the event.
