Ryan is part of a team of students and staff at Sidcot School who are running the Bristol 10k for OTR in May. We caught up with Ryan to hear more.
What motivated you to support OTR?
I admire the work done by OTR and the positive benefits the work done itself has on all linked to the charity. As a school, Sidcot works closely with OTR and we see first hand the work done by OTR and we would be looking to further our links with OTR and of course to fundraise for them would go hand in hand for what we are looking to achieve moving forward.
How did you hear about us and the work we do?
Personally, I ran and fundraised for OTR back in 2018, and thus I was made aware of OTR and the successful work they do.
What kind of training are you doing to get ready for your run?
I am building up to a triathlon at the end of May, and this event is a good warm up for it. I am committing to running 2-3 days a week to make sure I hopefully get a good finishing time!
Why do you think organisations like OTR are important?
Charities like OTR are highly important as there is a strong need to help the younger generation through a tough period of how the world is at the moment. With how social media sometimes is portrayed and the external pressures of the outside world, the work done by OTR is very important in assisting the youth move forward and have a positive impact on life.
A massive thank you to Ryan and Sidcot school and good luck on the day.
